I probably don't remember my first experience hearing a live band, but I do remember the first big concert I attended. My mom won tickets to see The Wallflowers at the Universal Ampitheater(now Gibson) off a local rock radio station. While I wasn't a huge wallflowers fan, I was very fond of Fiona Apple who had just begun her career with her first record, Tidal. Oddly enough the night of my first concert was also the first time I smelled pot smoke. (my mom pointed it out - now how would she know such a thing?!)

As a young musician I wanted to attend everything and anything under the sun, but my first concert accompanied by an adult was to see Ozzy Osbourne. I remember standing in line with guys 10x my size waiting to take my seat and later wondering why rock and roll smelled funny like a skunk.

Since then I've attended many shows as well as performed many of my own and yet nothing will ever compare to the ringing in my ears from that first concert. Thanks for letting me relive that night!
