Even though my girl was born in the Spring in sunny Southern California, she is prone to some chilly little tootsies from time to time. Whether we’re going for a sunset stroll, or perhaps the air conditioner is on a little high while she plays on her activity mat, or even if her onesie ensemble just screams out for fabulous footwear, she sometimes needs some coverage on those cute little feet.

I got several pairs of socks at my shower, but for one thing she’s growing out of them crazy fast, and for another, this little kicker does not care for a sock fitting. When I was pregnant I’d sometimes wake up yelping because it felt like she was fully extending her legs and flicking her toes off of the edge of my ribcage. Well there was no mix up in the nursery, because this is clearly the same baby. She still likes to kick, kick, KICK, and honestly, getting socks on is like trying to lasso a snake. I’ll chase her feet around and finally get socks on, only to get halfway out the door before one sock is gone and the other is dangling from the tip of her toes.

Solution: Cuddle Toe Slippers from Bunnies By the Bay. My friend Keri sent them to baby Julia all the way from Pennsylvania and they are not only THE most adorable baby slippers I’ve ever seen, but they are the softest; and get this – they stay on! Just a quick slip and they are on Julia’s feet before she knows what I’m doing. There is a furry strap behind the ears that keep them on the foot so they stay secure. They come in one size which is 0-6 months so you know they’ll last a while.

I found them online (they’re also available in stores) and am now very afraid of what I might order from them next. Too much cuteness!

I bought them for their cuteness and didn’t even know about the strap. I guess it just goes to show that high fashion CAN be practical!
