Healthy Baby Food Recipes
Mamas and papas will love this healthy baby food recipe too!
(For babies 6 months and up; yields 32 tablespoons)
Ingredients:
1 bag (16 oz.) peeled baby carrots
½ Golden Delicious or Fuji apple, peeled and diced
1 pinch ground ginger (optional)
Directions:
Place carrots in a pan with a steamer basket. Add enough water so that it just comes to the bottom of the basket. Bring to a slow boil, cover and steam for 5 minutes.
Add diced apple and steam for 10 minutes more.
Transfer to a blender and reserve the steaming liquid. Add ginger (optional) and 1/2 cup of reserved liquid; puree until smooth and desired consistency. Add more liquid if necessary.
Cool to room temperature. Divide into ice cube trays, cover with plastic wrap and freeze. When frozen, transfer to a freezer bag for storage.

This sweet and savory veggie recipe has a healthy secret ingredient — spinach. We won’t tell if you won’t…
(For babies 6 months and up; Yields 15 tablespoons)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen sweet peas
- 1 cup fresh or frozen green beans
- 1 cup baby spinach, packed
- ½ pinch garlic powder (optional)
Directions:
- Carefully wash all produce. If using fresh beans, snap off the ends. Place beans and peas in a pan with a steamer basket. Add enough water so that it comes just to the bottom of the basket.
- Cover and steam until very tender, about 15 minutes, checking to make sure the water does not run dry. Add spinach and steam for 5 – 8 minutes more.
- Transfer to a blender, adding garlic powder if desired, and reserving the steaming broth for pureeing. Puree vegetables adding broth a little at a time until thinned and smooth. If desired push through a mesh strainer.
- Set aside and cool. Divide into ice cube trays, cover with plastic wrap and freeze.

Eat a peach! Check out this hearty, healthy (and sweet) recipe your li’l peach will love…
(For babies 6 months and up; Yields 36 tablespoons)
Ingredients:
¼ cup uncooked short grain brown rice
1 cup water, formula or breast milk
1 bag (16 oz.) thawed frozen peach slices
1 pinch ground cinnamon (optional)
½ pinch ground nutmeg (optional)
Directions:
Grind rice in a blender to a fine powder. Place in a small saucepan and stir in water, formula or breast milk.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cover. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 to 15 minutes until thickened and soft to the tongue.
Transfer rice to blender. Add thawed peaches and optional spices. Puree until smooth (thin with water, formula or breast milk if necessary).
Divide into ice cube trays, cover with plastic wrap and freeze. When frozen, transfer to a freezer bag for storage.

Ingredients:

Directions:
