GIVEAWAY: Schooled by Bowie
Bowie…what can we say that hasn’t been said about him? He’s a legend.
My earliest memory of him wasn’t hearing one of his songs on the radio, but seeing his music videos. I don’t even know which one came first. Was it “Modern Love,” “China Girl,” “Let’s Dance” or “Dancing in the Streets” with Mick Jagger? I know, I know. Some people would consider that Bowie era their least favorite, but not me.
I was hooked. He was among a handful or so of other musical artists who I really admired when I was going through my teenage years.
After seeing those first videos, I just wanted more. And with each old or new video I came across, from “Ashes to Ashes” to “Under Pressure,” Bowie really taught me so much about the world through his music and his ever-changing persona, even if I didn’t realize it at the time.
