Celebrating a Rock Icon: Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Sister Rosetta Tharpe, known as the Godmother of Rock, was a queer black woman who invented rock ’n’ roll by melding gospel with powerful vocals and incredible guitar skills. She influenced iconic musicians like Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Little Richard, Miranda Lambert and countless others.
