5 Things You May Not Know About P!nk

P!nk, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, is one of the biggest female artists — scratch that, one of the biggest artists, period! — of the 21st century.027297970625

She has sold more than 45 million albums and was Billboard’s 2013 Woman of the Year. You probably know she has won three Grammys and has performed at the Oscars, but did you know these fun facts?

  1. Her stage name is inspired by three different things: an embarrassing class prank made her blush bright pink, friends picked her as the Steve Buscemi character, Mr. Pink, from the 1992 film Reservoir Dogs (because he was the smart one), and she wanted to reclaim it as a power color, especially since she was a tomboy.
  2. She was signed to LaFace records at age 16 as part of the R&B/Pop group Choice.
  3. P!nk proposed to her husband, Motocross star Carey Hart, at one of his races.
  4. One of her hobbies is gardening: She loves to plant kale, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes and more.
  5. She can also play the drums.
