1. The very first St. Patrick’s Day parade was not held in Ireland! It was held in Boston in 1737. Actually, today 23% of the city’s population is of Irish decent.
2. The saying “drowning the shamrock” is from the old Irish custom of floating a shamrock on the top of whiskey before drinking it down
3. More than 8 million St. Patrick’s Day cards are exchanged on March 17.
4. Lucky Charms (the cereal) are magically delicious. Oh, wait, that might be a well-known fact.
