Kindertune: Personalized Songs for Kids

It's a hard world for smart, quirky, literate pop-rock. Jedediah Smith, frontman of Brooklyn-based My Teenage Stride, has been beating his head against the record biz for years, releasing a string of amazing albums but never cracking the mass market. Instead of just composing generic alphabet and number pap, Smith's Kindertune project records one-of-a-kind, personalized songs for kids. Given a list of a kid's interests, Smith hunkers down in the studio and emerges with funny, clever jewels of songcraft. We bought a song for Henry's first birthday and it was well worth the money - how many other kids can say they have a song about them? Well, yours can. Listen here!
